Reviews & Testimonials for 4 Seasons
They installed new windows in our house and built an orangery in Dec2012/Jan 2013. Sometime after the installation was completed we were trying to locate our FENSA certificate. We contacted 4Seasons to ask where it was, they didn’t reply to our emails, texts or phone calls. We contacted FENSA directly who confirmed that 4 Seasons had not been members at the time of our installation even though it clearly stated on our quote on their headed paper that they were.
4Seasons had lied to us.
We reported them to Trading Standards.
We had an independent survey carried out on the windows which found that 13 windows are at fault, 3 do not meet building regulations and 10 have been fitted incorrectly.
In the surveyors professional opinion this was all down to poor workmanship.
We also have a leak in the orangery glass roof. We had another independent survey carried out (not the same company who conducted the independent window survey) and the surveyor also concluded that in his professional opinion the leak was due to poor workmanship.
Since April 2013 we have been asking 4Seasons to come and rectify this. They came around a few times, each time giving a different reason for the cause of the leak and assuring us that time it had been fixed. To date it has not been fixed.
Finally, Les Styles (the director of the company) came around mid October 2014 and said he would come back the following week with a fitter and sort out the problem once and for all.
It is now November 2016 - over 2 years later and we are still waiting for him to return. We still have the leak.
We took legal advice and decided to take 4Seasons to court.
At the preliminary hearing in April 2016 Les Styles did not appear. At the hearing in June 2016 Les Styles did not appear.
The hearing continued in his absence and we won. The judge awarded us a five figure sum.
On 26 February 2016, Les Styles put the company into Voluntary Liquidation. This means he has not paid the compensation awarded to us by the Court.
Shortly after this, a new company was set up.
The liquidators informed me that we are now on a long list of creditors.
In summary, do not use this company. They are dreadful to deal with and the whole experience has been an absolute nightmare. There are many reviews on the internet from people who have had the same trouble with 4Seasons. Make sure you read them all and do not under any circumstances have any dealings with this company. Also check the Companies House website for further information.
